Working outside under a blazing sun is no joke. Whether you’re on a scaffolding, storing materials, or just trying to get through a long shift, the heat wears you down fast. That’s exactly why we make shade cloth.

This is the stuff that looks like loosely woven fabric, usually made from polyethylene, and it does one simple thing really well. It blocks a percentage of sunlight while still letting air and some light through. Depending on what you need, we offer block out rates from 30% all the way up to 90%. The 30% version is popular for scaffold mesh because it takes the edge off without making the work area too dark. The heavier 90% cloth is great for material storage or break areas where you want serious relief from UV rays.
What I like about this shade cloth is how tough it is. The material is UV stabilized for outdoor use, and we’ve seen it last ten years without falling apart. It resists tearing, handles wind reasonably well, and comes in a bunch of colors. White, black, green, red, brown, yellow, blue, pink, you name it. You can also add logo printing across the roll or make it fire retardant if your site requires that.
Roll sizes are practical, too. For metric users, we’ve got 1.83 or 3.66 meters wide by 30 or 50 meters long. Imperial folks can get 6 or 12 feet wide by 96 or 165 feet long. Weights run from 80 to 300 grams per square meter, so you can choose how substantial you want it. Custom sizes and colors are always an option.
Next time you’re planning an outdoor job in the summer, grab a roll of shade cloth. Your crew will thank you, and your materials won’t cook in the sun. It’s a cheap way to make a brutal day a whole lot more comfortable.
