Polywoven for Tough Temporary Protection

Polywoven, also known as polyweave or polytarp, is a double laminated reinforced fabric that has become a familiar sight on construction sites and around the home. It is made from polyethylene and built to handle the kind of abuse that temporary covers usually take. Water and dust stay on the outside where they belong, and the material holds its shape in rain, snow, and strong sunlight without turning brittle or growing mildew in damp conditions. That combination of waterproofing and UV resistance is what separates it from cheap tarps that fall apart after a season.

The fabric is available in weights from 80gsm up to 300gsm, with widths between 0.9m and 4m and roll lengths of 50m or 100m. Colors include blue, white, green, double green with a red stripe, and blue with orange, along with custom options. An anti-slip surface is built in for safety, and the lightweight nature of the material means one person can carry and position a large roll without help.

On a building site, Polywoven shows up as floor and wall protection during renovations, keeping finished surfaces clear of paint and debris. It covers materials and gear stacked outside, and it wraps stairways and frames when weatherproofing is needed in a hurry. Outside of construction, the same fabric serves as a ground cover to suppress weeds, a temporary shelter for events and camping, a protective cover for boats and vehicles, and a shield for crops in agricultural settings. It is also cost effective enough to be treated as a consumable, which is why it turns up in so many different places doing so many different jobs.
