Corflute Sheet and the Unshowy Genius of Temporary Protection

A finished floor is a fragile thing. One dropped tool or a spilled cup of coffee is all it takes to turn a pristine surface into a repair job. Corflute sheet exists for that vulnerable window between completion and handover. Made from corrugated polypropylene, it is a twin wall plastic sheet that lays down fast and takes hits that would otherwise land on tiles, timber or concrete.

The material is not complicated. A fluted core sits between two flat skins, which gives it a stiffness that feels surprising for something so light. Sheets run from 2mm to 11.5mm thick, with standard sizes of 1220 by 2440mm and 1200 by 1800mm, and custom cuts are available for awkward spaces. It shrugs off water and most spills, so a wet site does not turn it into mush. It also cuts and bends with ordinary hand tools, which means a crew can shape it around a doorway or a column without waiting on a supplier.

On a construction site the sheet earns its keep as a temporary floor cover and a waterproofing layer over exposed surfaces. Sign makers use it as a printing substrate because it holds ink well and survives outdoors far longer than cardboard. Packaging teams rely on it for pallet dividers and as a sturdier replacement for cardboard boxes, especially where moisture would ruin paper-based options. Flame retardant and anti static versions are available for environments that need them, and custom logo printing can turn a plain sheet into a branded barrier.

Nothing about Corflute is meant to last forever. It is recyclable, affordable and unpretentious. But for the weeks or months when protection matters most, it does the job without asking for attention.
